WHO WE ARE
About Beta Deuteron
A century of brotherhood, leadership, and excellence at Iowa State University.
The Chapter House
Beta Deuteron is home to over 105 active members — the largest and most active our chapter has been in years. At the heart of it all is our chapter house, located in the heart of Greek Row in Ames, with comfortable living accommodations for 41 men. The house features study rooms, a common area, a 24-hour kitchen, free on-site laundry, and the shared spaces where lifelong friendships are built. This summer we are completing major renovations including fresh paint throughout, new carpeting, a complete front lawn overhaul, and new laundry appliances — continuing our commitment to maintaining a house our brothers are proud to call home. Our members represent a wide range of academic paths, with strong representation across Business, Engineering, Kinesiology, and Psychology, and our internal points system rewards brothers for academic performance, campus leadership, and house involvement to ensure our standards remain high.
Cost
There are no dues or financial obligations until after initiation. Once initiated, out-of-house dues are approximately $400 per semester. For brothers living in the house, dues are approximately $4,400 per semester — a competitive, all-inclusive rate that fully covers a parking spot, 24-hour kitchen access, free laundry facilities, all regular chapter social events, and freshly prepared weekly meals from our private house chef. Compared to on-campus housing, living in the Beta Deuteron house offers more value, more community, and a better college experience.
