In high school, I played football and always had a group of guys to fall on in my best and worst of times. I joined because a guy on the football team, a year older than me, was in Theta Delta Chi and told me to check out the house. During freshman orientation, I got a house tour and explained my interest to the brother who gave me the house tour, in what I’m looking for in a fraternity and I signed in the summer. Early fall of 2019, the men of TDX treated me as family and I spent nearly every minute of my time at Iowa State during my pledge ship at the house, when I wasn’t in class, because I was invested in the future the exec team laid out. I was also given several opportunities to grow as an individual and going from as an introvert to an extrovert, I am continuing to do that to the men we are recruiting now. There has been some dark times, especially in the midst of the pandemic, that I have been doubting my path. But my brothers here listened and lifting me back up to where I am now, I couldn’t have gotten thru that without them

For the opportunity to find a great group of guys that I can call my friends and family for the rest of my life

My family has been Thumpers and alumni Drew Johnson was a big part in my recruitment as well.

I went thru formal and the guys were actual people and not interviewing me. It felt like home.

I got brought over to meet the guys and had a different experience than in other houses. The guys wanted to hang with me and get to know me before trying to recruit me.

I joined TDX because it was a house that I fit into. There were many different majors and varying personalities that made the house very appealing for me. The more and more I was around the house the more and more I felt like I belonged.

I joined because I liked the guys. Id looked at other houses and never felt the genuine connection with guys like I did at TDX. I also just felt like they wanted me and accepted me for who I am.
